Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from 42 in Clifton down to 36 at Hackettstown and High Point. Winds are mainly light from the south. The air quality is good with an index of 36.

Mild and breezy day today and a strong cold front will pass through our area this afternoon followed by a brisk northwest flow of Arctic air. Temperatures will be sharply colder tonight with lows near 20 by Sunday morning. Winds gusting to near 35 mph will cause wind chills to fall to the single digits.

High pressure will then build into the area for Sunday and Monday giving us dry and chilly weather.

Tuesday will be dry and milder as the high pressure moves offshore.

A strong low pressure will affect our area on Wednesday. There will be a chance of rain Wednesday morning then rain possibly heavy at times Wednesday afternoon and evening with rainfall amounts of 1 to 1 1/2 inches likely.

High pressure will then build into our area for Thursday and Friday with near or slightly above normal temperatures.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy, breezy and sharply colder, lows near 20, wind gusts to 32 mph.

SUNDAY – MAR 2 – Sunny, highs only in the low 30s.

MONDAY – MAR 3 – Sunny, highs in the upper 30s.

TUESDAY – MAR 4 – Mostly sunny and milder, highs near 50. Chance if rain after midnight.

WEDNESDAY – MAR 5 – Rain heavy at times mainly in the afternoon and at night, highs in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY – MAR 6 – Partly sunny, highs in the low 50s.

FRIDAY – MAR 7 – Mostly sunny, highs near 50.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory. Is in effect till 6 p.m. this evening for southwest winds becoming northwest to 30 knots, seas 5-8 feet.

OUTLOOK – A Gale warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. this evening through 1 a.m. Sunday morning. Advisorys still possible during the day on Sunday. No advisorys expected Sunday night though the day on Tuesday. Possible advisorys Tuesday night through Wednesday!
