Clearing and becoming windy today! Sunny and windy again on Friday! Dry this weekend with less wind and near normal temperatures! Continued dry with a warming trend Monday through Wednesday!

Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and there are some scattered light showers in parts of the area. Temperatures are unseasonably mild with readings ranging from 51 in Clifton down to 44 at High Point. The air quality is good with an index of 47.

A cold front will cross the area around dawn possibly accompanied by a brief sprinkle and followed by a strong westerly flow of drier air. We will have clearing skies but winds will pick up from the west this afternoon and become stronger from the northwest tonight. Mild temperatures in the 50s this morning will fall to the 40s by sunset.

Friday will be a sunny day and continued windy as the low pressure that gave us the rain yesterday intensifies off the Maine coast.

This weekend will be mainly dry with much less wind and temperatures close to normal.

Dry weather will continue with a warming trend through the middle of next week as high pressure moves through our area. Highs in the 50s on Monday will rise to the 60s for Tuesday and Wednesday.

TONIGHT – Partly to mostly cloudy and windy, lows in the low 30s, wind gusts to 35 mph.

FRIDAY – MAR 7 – Sunny and windy, highs near 50, wind gusts to 35 mph.

SATURDAY – MAR 8 – Mostly sunny with diminishing winds, highs in the upper 40s.

SUNDAY – MAR 9 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 40s.

MONDAY – MAR 10 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 50s.

TUESDAY – MAR 11 – Sunny, highs in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – MAR 12 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for west winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 7-10 feet.

OUTLOOK: A gale warning has been posted effective between 6 p.m. this evening through 10 a.m. Friday; advisories expected to continue through Friday night; no advisories expected for Saturday through Monday.
