Moderate to heavy rain today may start off as some freezing rain this morning!


It has becoming cloudy early this morning and temperatures range from the mid 20s in the Clifton area to the upper teens further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Rain is falling now in Southern New Jersey and this precipitation will move into Northern New Jersey later this morning, the ground is cold so some of the rain may freeze on some untreated surfaces this morning before the temperatures rise by this afternoon.  The rain will become moderate to heavy at times this afternoon and this evening with about an inch and half of rainfall expected, good day to stay home and watch some football.

Monday will be windy with near seasonable temperatures and partly sunny skies.

Continued dry with less wind and mostly sunny conditions on Tuesday.

A weak low pressure will give us a chance of snow beginning before daybreak on Wednesday, at this time there is a possibility of an inch or two of the white stuff.

Dry weather Thursday through Saturday with slightly below normal temperatures.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Rain developing this morning possibly beginning as freezing rain, temperatures rising into the low 40s.

TONIGHT – Rain ending by 10pm then clearing, low in the low 30s.

MONDAY – Partly sunny and windy, high near 40.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow, high in the mid 30s.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny, high in the mid 30s.

FRIDAY – Partly sunny, high in the low 30s.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 30s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Small craft advisory in effect till 6pm on Monday for south-southwest winds today becoming westerly on Monday to 25 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Tuesday through Thursday.
