Some snow showers likely today and becoming windy! Dry weekend coming up, cool on Saturday, milder on Sunday!


Skies have become partly cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures are bit milder than this time yesterday ranging from the upper 20s here in Clifton to the upper teens in the colder inland valleys, winds are nearly calm.

A cold front approaching from the west will cause increasing cloudiness today with some snow showers likely this afternoon which may give the area a dusting up to an inch in some places, it will become windy late in the day.  Snow showers should end by early this evening with gradual clearing at night, it will continue to be breezy and somewhat colder.

A dry weekend is in store for our area as high pressure moves into the area, we should have considerable cloudiness with seasonably cool temperatures on Saturday and then partly sunny skies on Sunday and milder.

Above normal temperatures will continue into next week, Monday and during the day on Tuesday will be mainly dry.

A stronger cold front will approach the area Tuesday night which will likely cause some rain showers, temperatures on Wednesday will be very mild with some areas may approach the 60 degree mark.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Cloudy with snow showers likely after 11 a.m. becoming breezy, high near 40.

TONIGHT – Snow showers ending by 7 p.m. followed by clearing, breezy, possible accumulation around 1/2 inch.

SATURDAY – Increasing cloudiness, high near 40.

SUNDAY – Partly sunny and milder, high in the upper 40s.

MONDAY – Partly sunny, high near 50.

TUESDAY – Partly sunny, high in the upper 40s.  Chance of showers at night.

WEDNESDAY – Showers likely and quite mild, high in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY – Mostly sunny and cooler, high in the mid 40s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Gale warning will be in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon till 1 a.m. on Saturday for northwest winds gusting to 35 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – Possible advisory conditions Saturday afternoon into the evening, no advisories expected Sunday through Tuesday.
