Skies are cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are rather uniform over the area mainly in the low to mid 20s, winds are light. We have had a dusting of snow overnight with accumulations in Clifton less than 1/2 inch. Some spots in the Hudson Valley received around 2 inches for their first accumulating snow of the season there.
A couple of disturbances will be moving through the area today into Wednesday morning causing snow flurries during the day today but the disturbance tonight should be stronger and produce around 3-5 inches of snow which will end tomorrow morning.
We should see some sunshine by Wednesday afternoon with temperatures reaching close to 40.
Colder but mainly dry and windy Thursday and Friday.
An Arctic cold front will be moving through the area Friday night which may give us some snow showers Friday night into Saturday morning.
The coldest air of the season will be over us for the weekend and despite plenty of sunshine both days high temperatures will struggle to reach the low 20s, low temperature Saturday night will be close to zero and with brisk winds bringing the wind chill values well below zero.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny breezy and very cold, high in the low 20s.
SUNDAY – Mostly sunny breezy and very cold, high again in the low 20s.
MONDAY – Mostly sunny and not quite as cold, high in the low 30s.
MARINE FORECAST: Small craft advisory in effect till 6 p.m on Wednesday for northerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 6-11 feet diminishing tonight.
OUTLOOK – Advisories likely on Thursday with possible gales Friday night into Saturday.
