Wonderful holiday weekend weather after yesterday’s storms!


Skies have become mostly clear early on this Saturday morning and temperatures have dropped to around 60 here in Clifton to the low 50s further inland, winds are light and the humidity is low.

Yesterday’s storms caused some wind damage along with hail, frequent lightning and heavy rain, around 1 1/4 inches of rain fell in Clifton.

Today will be a much quieter day as a cold front has moved offshore and high pressure builds in from the northwest, temperatures will be seasonably warm with plenty of sunshine, the humidity will be low and there will be a nice refreshing breeze.

Mostly sunny skies will continue on Sunday and temperatures may be a couple of degrees higher than today’s, the humidity will stay low.

We may have a bit more clouds on Independence Day as a weak front will be to our south, there will be a slight chance of showers at night but most areas will stay dry with continued low humidity.

Quite warm and increasingly humid air is expected for the end of next week with continued mainly dry conditions.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low around 60.

SUNDAY – Sunny, high in the mid 80s.

INDEPENDANCE DAY – Partly to mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

TUESDAY – Partly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

FRIDAY – Partly sunny and hot, high in the low 90s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Northwest winds to 12 knots, seas 1 foot.  Water temperatures are near 70 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Sunday through Wednesday.

 

JUNE 2016 CLIMATE SUMMARY –  This June’s temperature averaged slightly above normal and precipitation was below normal with 3.04″ falling.  The high temperature was 90 degrees recorded on 11th and the 19th, the lowest was 49 on the 9th.
