More heavy rain likely late tonight into Tuesday and again on Thursday!


MONDAY  APRIL 3,  2017  5:50 A.M.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from the low 40s in the Clifton area to the low 30s in some inland valleys, winds are light.

Today high pressure will be moving off the coast, we will have sunshine this morning with increasing clouds by this afternoon, temperatures will be mild.

Rain from a low pressure system approaching the area will begin late tonight and become heavy at times tomorrow morning with even a few rumbles of thunder possible, rain will taper off to showers by Tuesday afternoon, 1-2 inches of rain is expected and a flood watch has been posted.

High pressure will briefly build into the area on Wednesday giving us a dry and mild day.

Another area of low pressure is expected to give us more widespread rain on Thursday before tapering off to showers on Friday, an additional 1-2 inches of rain is possible.

The upcoming weekend at this point is expected to be dry with near seasonable temperatures.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – APR 3 – Partly sunny this morning, increasing cloudiness this afternoon, high in the low 60s.

TONIGHT – Rain developing mainly after  11 p.m., rain may be heavy at times, low in the upper 40s.

TUESDAY – APR 4 – Rain heavy at times with a possible thunderstorm in the morning, showers in the afternoon, high in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 5 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 60s.

THURSDAY – APR 6 – Rain, high in the mid 50s.

FRIDAY – APR 7 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid 50s.

SATURDAY – APR 8 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

SUNDAY – APR 9 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 60s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – South-southeast wind to 10 knots, seas 1 foot.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisory posted from midnight tonight until 6 a.m on Wednesday; no advisories expected during the day on Wednesday with small craft conditions again possible Wednesday night through Thursday.
