Skies are mostly cloudy and there are some showers around as a cold front approaches the area. Temperatures are very mild with readings in the low 70s in the Clifton area, down to the low 60s further inland where the front has moved through; winds are from the southwest around 5-10 mph.
The cold front will cross the area shortly and it will be accompanied by some showers and followed by a brisk westerly flow of much drier air, temperatures will rise a little to the mid 70s.
Dry weather with more seasonable temperatures for Wednesday into the day on Thursday.
A slow moving upper low pressure system will cause rain which will possibly heavy at times from late Thursday night through Friday night, we may pick up 1-2 inches of rain from this system.
The upper low will hang around our area for the weekend into early next week producing mostly cloudy skies, cool temperatures and scattered showers.

SATURDAY – MAY 6 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid 60s.
SUNDAY – MAY 7 – Partly sunny with a chance of a shower, high in the low 60s.
MONDAY – MAY 8 – Partly sunny with a chance of a shower, high in the low 60s.
MARINE FORECAST: Small craft advisory in effect till 3 a.m. Wednesday morning for southwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.
OUTLOOK – Advisories likely to be needed during the day on Wednesday; no advisories from Wednesday night through the day on Thursday; advisories likely Thursday night into Saturday.
APRIL 2017 CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR CLIFTON:
The average temperature for the month was 56.5 degrees which was around 5 degrees above normal making this the warmest April since 2010 and the 2nd warmest since 1974.
Precipitation was just slightly above normal with 4.48 inches falling.
Highest temperature was 87 degrees on the 16th – Easter Sunday.
Lowest temperature was 35 degrees on the 1st.
No snow fell during the month.
