Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Monday morning and there are some showers in parts of the area, it is still mild with temperatures ranging from around 60 in the Clifton area down to the low 50s further inland, winds are gusty out of the northwest.
A cold front is moving offshore, showers will end this morning, a brisk northwest flow of cooler air today with temperatures only rising a couple of degrees from the current levels.
Tonight will have the coolest readings of the fall season so far as temperatures drop into the 30s, a frost advisory is in effect for Sussex, Morris and Warren Counties in northwest New Jersey.
Tuesday will be a mostly fair and cool day with diminishing winds.
This cool shot will be short lived as high pressure moves slowly off the coast on Wednesday and warmer air moves into the area. Temperatures will be above normal with most highs in the 70s from Wednesday through the weekend. It will also be rainfree through the weekend.

WEDNESDAY – OCT 18 – Sunny and milder, high in the low 70s.
THURSDAY – OCT 19 – Sunny, high in the low 70s.
FRIDAY – OCT 20 – Sunny, high in the low 70s.
SATURDAY – OCT 21 – Sunny, high in the mid 70s.
SUNDAY – OCT 22 – Sunny, high in the mid 70s.
MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m Tuesday morning for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-5 feet.
OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Tuesday through Friday.
