Sunny and very warm today! Hot and humid on Monday with a chance of nighttime thunderstorms!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are clear early this morning and temperatures range from the mid 60s in the Clifton area down to some low 50s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

High pressure will be over the area today providing plenty of sunshine along with very warm temperatures as highs reach to near 90, humidity will be moderate.

As the high moves off the coast a southwest flow of very hot and increasingly humid air will be with us on Monday, temperatures will climb to the mid 90s and with dew points approaching 70 will cause heat indexes to rise to near 100.  A cold front approaching may cause some nighttime showers and thunderstorms.

The cold front will cross the area Tuesday morning with a chance of lingering showers followed by partly sunny skies and although it will be still quite warm it will become less humid.

High pressure will control our weather Wednesday into next weekend.  Temperatures will be seasonably warm and at this point it looks like dry weather will persist though next weekend.
