Another nice and seasonably cool day today! Warmer and more humid on Wednesday along with a chance of showers! Dry and seasonably warm Thursday and Friday!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are cool once again with readings ranging from the upper 50s in Clifton down to 50 degrees further inland, winds are mainly calm.

NOTE: In 2011 Hurricane Irene caused massive flooding in our area with 9.27″ of rain falling on August 27th into the 28th.

High pressure over the Canadian maritime region will give us a light onshore flow of continued cool and dry air today along with mostly sunny skies.

Warmer and more humid air will move into the area on Wednesday along with a chance of showers as a cold front moves toward our area.

Mostly sunny and seasonably warm with low humidity Thursday and Friday.

As we head into the holiday weekend it appears now that Saturday and Sunday will be seasonably cool with low humidity. There will be a chance of showers on Labor Day.

TODAY – AUG 27 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 70s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy, low in the mid 60s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 28 – Cloudy with a chance of showers and possible a thunderstorm, humid, high in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – AUG 29 – Mostly sunny and less humid, high in the mid 80s.

FRIDAY – AUG 30 – Sunny, high in the mid 80s.

SATURDAY – AUG 31 – Sunny, high near 80.

SUNDAY – SEP 1 – Partly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

LABOR DAY – SEP 2 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high near 80.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. this afternoon for easterly winds gusting to 20 knots, seas 4-6 feet. Point Pleasant Beach ocean temperature is 69 degrees. There is a high risk of dangerous rip currents today.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected Wednesday through Saturday.
