Sunny and cold today with slowly diminishing winds! Snow Saturday changing to rain in the evening! Dry and cold weather most of next week!


Good morning!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures are the coldest in over a week with readings ranging from the low 20s in Clifton down to the middle teens further inland, winds are gusty out of the northwest. These temperatures are actually near normal.

Low pressure off the Canadian maritime region and building high pressure over the upper Great Lakes will give us a strong northwest flow of cold air, winds will diminsh slowly throughout the day. Skies will be sunny.

A low pressure will be moving into the Great Lakes and off our coast on Saturday, snow will begin in the early afternoon and probably change to rain before ending Saturday night. Accumulations of 2-4 inches are possible with more to our north and west.

Sunday will be a mostly sunny day but it will be windy and colder.

Mainly dry and cold conditions next week with a slow moderation in temperatures toward the end of the week.

TODAY – JAN 17 – Sunny and cold with slowly diminishing winds, high in the low 30s.

TONIGHT – Increasing cloudiness, low in the mid teens.

SATURDAY – JAN 18 – Snow developing by the early afternoon and changing to rain at night, possible accumulations of 2-4 inches, high in the mid 30s.

SUNDAY – JAN 19 – Mostly sunny, windy and becoming colder, high near 40 in the late morning dropping to the low 30s by sunset.

TUESDAY – JAN 21 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 30s.

WEDNESDAY – JAN 22 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 30s.

THURSDAY – JAN 23 – Sunny, high near 40.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning is in effect until 10 a.m. this morning for northwest winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 4-7 feet. Winds and seas diminishing in the afternoon.

OUTLOOK – Advisories likely on Saturday and Sunday with gale gusts possible on Sunday; no advisories expected for Monday and Tuesday.
