Mixed precipitation may cause travel problems late tonight into Wednesday morning!


A cold front came through yesterday and a wave along this front caused rain last night, this rain has moved offshore and we will have a dry day with temperatures still a little above normal for this time of year. Another stronger wave along this front will cause precipitation to move in later tonight into Wednesday morning, a messy mix of rain,snow, sleet and freezing rain will fall with accumulations of about an inch in the Clifton area to up to 4 inches inland. little or no accumulation to our east and south. This system will move offshore later Wednesday. Thursday will be dry with seasonably mild temperatures. Colder Friday with temperatures falling to near normal. Mild and dry Saturday. A stronger cold front will move through sometime Sunday followed by likely the coldest air of the season next week.

The forecast:
Today – Mostly cloudy, high in the low-mid 40s.
Tonight – Becoming cloudy with mixed rain, sleet and snow developing after 9pm, low around 30.
Wednesday – Morning mixed precipitation ending by 1PM, accumulations of about 1″ in the Clifton area, more inland, high near 40.
Thursday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.
Friday – Mostly sunny and colder, high in the mid-upper 30s.
Saturday – Mostly sunny and milder, high in the mid-upper 40s.
Sunday – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.
Monday – Partly cloudy and much colder, high n the low 30s.

Marine Forecast: Today – North wind to 10 knots, seas 2 feet
Outlook – Small craft advisories may be needed late Wednesday into Thursday and again on Sunday.
