High pressure is moving off the coast as a low pressure area moves northward toward our area. Today will be mainly a cloudy day with highs mainly in the 70s with a light onshore winds. The humidity will be moderate with most dew points in the low 60s. There will be a chance of showers mainly after 2 p.m.

The low pressure will move just off the coast and we will continue to have mostly cloudy skies Thursday and Friday along with a chance of showers.

Mainly dry weather this weekend which should extend into early next week with cool temperatures and comfortable humidity.

High pressure is moving off the coast and we will have more clouds today with a light onshore wind. Temperatures and humidity will be similar to yesterday with highs near 80 and dew points near 60.

Moisture from the low pressure to our south may give us some showers Wednesday into Thursday but latest indication are that most of the beneficial rainfall should stay to our south and east and we may only pick up a few hundreds of precipitation.

The low should move offshore on Friday with dry conditions likely through the weekend. High temperatures will be near seasonable on Friday but be below normal for the weekend.

NOTE: 25 years ago today Hurricane Floyd caused massive flooding as more than 11 inches of rain fell in our area.

Strong high pressure over our area will give us a mostly sunny day today with near seasonable temperatures and low humidity with dew points mainly in the upper 50s.

The high will be moving off the coast on Tuesday and we should see more clouds and higher humidity but we should stay dry.

A tropical disturbance will move inland across North Carolina into Virginia and some of the moisture from this system will give us a good chance of showers Wednesday into Thursday. It will continue to be humid with dew points in the mid to upper 60s.

We dry out on Friday with lower humidity.

At this point the upcoming weekend looks dry but cool.

High pressure over our area will again give us a mostly sunny day with high temperatures a little cooler than yesterday, also the humidity will lower this afternoon with dew points in the 50s.

Another mostly sunny day with seasonably mild temperatures as the high pressure slowly moves off the New England coast.

A low pressure area off the Carolina coast which may become a tropical storm, will move inland to North Carolina, but some moisture from this system could cause some showers mainly Tuesday night through Thursday. With more clouds, high temperatures will be slightly below normal but with higher humidity.

Still a chance of a shower on Friday followed by clearing and cooler weather for next weekend.

High pressure extending from New England to our area will give us another warm day today with plenty of sunshine and light and variable winds. Highs will rise to the mid 80s with dew points a little higher than yesterday as dew points will average in the low 60s.

Sunday will not be quite as warm with a somewhat stronger onshore wind but skies will remain mostly fair.

Dry weather with seasonable warm temperatures Monday through the day on Tuesday.

A low pressure area off the southeast coast may give us some showers Tuesday night into Thursday but at this time chances are low as most of the moisture should remain to our south. Also the humidity will be a little higher with dew points in the mid 60s.
