Today will be a mostly cloudy and cool day again, a weak disturbance is causing some showers that should end by 8 a.m. although there is a slight chance of showers into this afternoon.

Saturday will be a little warmer with again a slight chance of showers during the day. Showers and thunderstorms will become more likely mainly after 8 p.m. as a warm front moves through our area.

A cold front will cross the area on Sunday with a chance of more showers mainly before 2 p.m. The front will be followed by less humid air by Sunday night.

Cool and dry weather can be expected Labor Day through much of next week as a Canadian high will build into our area.

We only received .01″ of rain from a thunderstorm that mainly went to our south. Monmouth County had strong wind gusts along with some power outages.

A cold front has moved to our south and winds are now from the north which will become more easterly by this afternoon. Temperatures will not rise much from their current levels with highs in the upper 70s. Dew points will also lower to the more comfortable upper 50s by tonight.

There may be a light shower before 8 a.m. Friday morning then it will become partly sunny, with a continued onshore wind, high temperatures will still only rise to the mid 70s.

A warm front approaching our area will cause mostly cloudy skies on Saturday with showers likely mainly after 2 p.m., temperatures and humidity will be slightly higher.

A weak cold front will pass through the area early Sunday morning possibly accompanied by some showers before 8 a.m. then becoming partly sunny and warm during the day. A stronger cold front will pass through mainly dry Sunday night.

Very pleasant weather Labor Day through Wednesday with seasonably cool temperatures, low humidity and plenty of sunshine each day as high pressure dominates.

Very hot and humid today ahead of a cold front that will move through tonight. Temperatures will be well up into the 90s and with dew points around 70 will cause the heat index to rise over 100 degrees. Only a low chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening but if a storm develops it may become quite strong to severe.

Much cooler and mainly dry Thursday and Friday with only a slight chance (20%) of some light showers.

A better chance of showers will be on Saturday along with slightly warmer and more humid air as a cold front swings through the area.

At this time Sunday looks warm with a low chance of some showers and thunderstorms as another cold front sweeps through our area.

Dry and cooler weather is expected for Labor Day with comfortable humidity. The seasonably cool weather should continue through at least the middle of next week.

NOTE: On this date 13 years ago Hurricane Irene caused massive flooding in our area with 9.27″ of rain falling on August 27th into the 28th.

High pressure over the area will give us another warm day with highs well up into the 80s, the humidity will be moderate with dew points in the mid 60s. We should stay dry with mostly sunny skies.

Wednesday may be the last very hot and humid day of the summer as a southwest flow air will cause temperatures to rise to well up into the 90s and with dew points in the low 70s will cause heat indexes to rise above 100 degrees. A heat advisory has been issued. Also there is a chance of some scattered thunderstorms that may be strong to severe mainly after 2 p.m. A cold front will come through at night.

Much cooler and drier air for Thursday, there will be a slight chance of lingering showers in the morning otherwise we should be dry.

Friday looks to be a dry day with seasonably cool temperatures.

The weather looks to be a bit unsettled for the holiday weekend, with a good chance of showers on Saturday. At this time Sunday and Labor Day look dry with near seasonable temperatures.

High pressure off the coast will give our area a southwest flow of warm air. Dew points will be in the mid 60s. A weak low pressure area will give us a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

Tuesday looks to be dry and continued warm with moderate humidity levels with dew points again in the mid 60s.

A warm front will pass our area Wednesday morning followed by a cold front in the evening. The day will be very hot with highs well up into the 90s, also the dew points will rise to above 70. There will be a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

Much cooler Thursday and Friday as high pressure builds into the area from the north and we will have an onshore flow of air. Highs will only be in the 70s both days.

Weather will be a little unsettled for the holiday weekend. Saturday should be cool with a chance of showers while Sunday looks dry with somewhat warmer temperatures.
