The system that gave us showers and thunderstorms the last few days has moved offshore as high pressure builds into the area from the Great Lakes. Today will be a partly sunny day and cool with highs only in the 70s, dew points will drop to the upper 40s by this afternoon. Also winds will be a little gusty out of the northwest.

Sunny and cool weather to continue Wednesday and Thursday, highs both days will be in the 70s and overnight lows will be in the comfortable 50s.

Dry weather to continue Friday through the weekend, temperatures will moderate to near normal on Friday and a little above normal for the weekend. Dew points will only slightly rise to the low 60s.

While we had heavy rain last night it was not as terrible as parts of Connecticut and Long Island where over 10″ of rain fell in a short time causing massive flooding.

Today should be quieter than yesterday but we will continue to have mostly cloudy skies with warm temperatures and rather high humidity. A cold front will cross the area tonight accompanied by some scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The activity should not be as widespread as yesterday.

High pressure building from the northwest will give us partly sunny skies on Tuesday with cooler temperatures and much less humidity along with a brisk northwest wind.

Dry weather Wednesday and Thursday with highs both days in the 70s and overnight lows in the 50s. Also the humidity will be low with some dew points in the comfortable 40s.

Dry weather will continue with a slow moderation in temperatures Friday through the weekend, highs will be near normal on Friday and rise to above normal levels over the weekend.

A slowly moving frontal system will give us cloudy skies today with scattered showers and thunderstorms, some rain may be heavy at time with possible rain rates of 1-2″ an hour. A flood watch is in effect.

The front will slowly move off the coast on Monday with scattered showers and thunderstorms accompanying the front.

High pressure will then build from the Great Lakes and we will have much cooler and drier air. High temperatures Tuesday through Thursday will only be in the 70s and overnight lows in the 50s. Dew points will drop to the low 50s. And with some breezy conditions it will feel like fall.

Dry but with somewhat warmer temperatures Friday into next weekend!

High pressure is moving off the coast as a frontal system approaches from the west. Today will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers this afternoon and evening.

Still a chance of a shower on Tuesday as another weak secondary front moves through, this front will be followed by cooler and much less humid air Tuesday night through the rest of next week.

High pressure over the area today will give us mostly sunny skies filtered again from smoke from the Canadian Maritimes. High temperatures will be near 90 and the humidity will rise somewhat with dew points in the mid 60s.

Not as warm on Saturday with more clouds as a frontal system will be approaching from the west. Most of the day will be dry but there will be a good chance of showers mainly after 8 p.m.

The frontal system will be slow to move, so Sunday and Monday will be humid with showers and thunderstorms likely both days. The cold front should move offshore Monday night.

Still a chance of a shower on Tuesday as another weak cold front moves through the area, this front will be followed by much cooler and drier air that will probably continue through the rest of next week.
