Skies across the area are overcast and the light rain has ended. Temperatures are mild with readings ranging from 55 in Clifton down to 47 at High Points. Winds are light mainly from the southwest. The air quality is moderate with an index of 51.

The frontal system that caused our first measurable rain in six weeks is moving offshore. Total rainfall was only .20″ which will only put a small dent into our current drought. We should see clearing by late this morning and it will become breezy and mild with highs well up into the 60s. A second cold front will come through dry tonight.

High pressure building down from the Great Lakes will give us a dry and cooler day on Tuesday along with brisk winds. With these winds we will once again have a chance of more brush and wildfires.

The coolest air of the season is expected for Wednesday and Thursday with dry conditions. Low temperatures may dip to below freezing and daytime highs will struggle to reach the 50 degree mark.

High pressure will dominate our weather Friday through Sunday with dry conditions continuing along with milder temperatures.

Today we will see an increase in clouds as a frontal system approaches from the west. We will still have some smoky conditions mainly from the wildfire off I-287. Steady light rain should begin around 7 p.m. and end early Monday morning. Rainfall amounts will be between 1/4-1/2 inch and will end our record dry spell at 42 days. Also if you are driving this evening be aware of possible slippery roads when the rain starts as there will be considerable oil on the roads.

The front will move offshore tomorrow morning and it will become a mostly sunny, breezy and quite mild day. A secondary cold front will cross the area dry at night.

Dry but much cooler Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure builds into the area.

A weak frontal system may give us some showers on Thursday.

Dry with near seasonable temperatures are expected Friday through next weekend as high pressure moves into the area.

High pressure over the Great Lakes will build into our area today giving us a mostly sunny and cool day today. Winds will diminsh by this afternoon but there is still a red flag warning for our area until 6 p.m.

The high pressure will move off the New England coast on Sunday as a frontal system approaches our area. Light rain is expected Sunday night which will end our record dry spell. However only about 1/4″ of rain is expected which will not put much of a dent to our drought.

Veterans Day looks to be a dry, breezy but mild day with highs well up into the 60s.

Cooler and dry Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure builds into the area.

Another chance of showers will be on Thursday but looking at the recent computer models shows that this system will be weaker than what was indicated yesterday.

High pressure moving through the area ahead of a cold front will give us an increasingly brisk westerly flow of mild air. Due to the winds, low humidity and very dry ground will give our area a chance of brush and wildfires today so a Red Flag Warning has been issued.

The cold front will come through dry late tonight and Saturday will be a cooler day with less winds than today.

A frontal system will approach our area on Sunday, there will be a chance of showers in the afternoon but will be widespread at night with 1/4 to 1/2″ of rainfall expected.

Veterans Day will be partly sunny and mild.

Cooler Tuesday and Wednesday and another frontal system may cause showers Wednesday night into Thursday.

A cold front is passing through our area this morning and it will be followed by a brisk northwesterly flow of air. High temperatures will be a little cooler today but still be unseasonably mild. Also it will become less humid by this afternoon.

Another sunny and mild day on Friday but another cold front will come through at night.

More seasonable temperatures this weekend. Saturday will be dry and mostly sunny but we should see an increase in clouds on Sunday with well needed rain likely Sunday night.

High pressure will then build into the area on Monday and dominate our weather through Wednesday. High temperatures will be a little above normal on Monday then near normal for Tuesday and Wednesday.
