Light snow is falling over much of the area early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from 26 in Clifton down to 20 at High Point. Winds are light and variable. The air quality is good with an index of 42.

Low pressure moving off the coast well to our south will give us some light snow showers that should end by mid-morning, accumulations should only be a dusting to 1/2″. Partial clearing by late in the day with a slight increase in winds.

Sunday and Monday will be mostly sunny both days with temperatures a little above normal

Colder air will filter into our area for Tuesday through Thursday with below normal temperature. It will be breezy but not as windy as we had the last few days.

Dry weather should continue on Friday along with slightly milder temperatures.

The storm over the Canadian maritime region that has given us the strong winds the last few days is finally moving away as high pressure builds closer to our area. Today will be a mostly sunny day and not as cold and winds will diminish by this afternoon, so today will not be as harsh.

Low pressure will move to our south on Saturday with some mainly light snow showers in the morning, accumulations should only be a dusting to maybe 1/2 inch.

Sunday will be a rather nice day with mostly sunny skies, light winds and slightly above normal temperatures.

Dry weather should persist much of next week. Temperatures will be slightly above normal on Monday but colder air will move into the area on Tuesday and last through Thursday. It may be windy at times, but not as strong as we had the last couple of days.

Winds are gusty out of the northwest with Teterboro airport reporting a gust to 40 mph during the last hour. The air quality is good with an index of 21.

Strong low nearly stationary over the Canadian maritime region in combination with high pressure to our west will give us very strong winds today as the pressure gradient is even tighter than the last couple of days so we should see gusts approaching 50 mph, a wind advisory is in effect. Wind chills should stay in the single digits all day and it will feel very cold despite plenty of sunshine.

Friday the low weakens and moves further away as the high pressure to our west builds into our area, winds will be gusty in the morning finally diminishing by the afternoon.

The disturbance that at one time promised very heavy snow on Saturday will safely pass to our south and now we will just have a chance of snow showers in the morning.

Sunday through Wednesday will be dry with seasonably cold temperatures, although it will become colder and windy once again by Wednesday.

Strong low near Newfoundland Canada, in combination with high pressure in the middle of the country, will continue a northwest flow of cold air today and again on Thursday. Wind gusts to 31 mph today and gusts to near 45 mph on Thursday will make it feel cold despite plenty of sunshine both days.

The low pressure over the Canadian maritime region will weaken on Friday and we should have light winds and somewhat milder temperatures.

Low pressure now is forecasted to remain to our south and then move offshore on Saturday with only a chance of light snow mainly in the morning, accumulations will range from a coating to an inch.

Dry weather Sunday through Tuesday with near seasonable temperatures.

The storm that gave us the snow yesterday is now intensifying near the Canadian Maritimes and in combination with an Arctic high in the middle of the country will give us a strong northwest flow of cold air today. Winds will gust at times to near 40 mph making highs near 30 feel much colder despite plenty of sunshine.

Dry but cold and windy conditions should continue through Friday.

A low pressure system is expected to develop over the Gulf States and move up the coast on Saturday. Most computer models have the storm moving too far to our south to cause more significant snow but since it is still five days out that may change so this situation bears watching.

Dry and seasonably cold weather is expected for Sunday and Monday.
