After three days of comfortably warm weather to start off July the heat and humidity will be with us starting today and last for at least the next several days.

A warm front is moving through the area this morning and we will have an increase in humidity as dew points that were in the 50s the last few days will rise to the oppressively low 70s by tonight. Skies will be partly sunny and we will have a chance of some isolated showers and thunderstorms mainly after 5 p.m.

Mostly cloudy and very humid Friday and Saturday with showers and thunderstorms more likely as a weak front moves through our area.

Sunday and Monday should be rain free as weak high pressure builds over the area. Temperatures will be hot but the humidity should be somewhat lower.

Another weak frontal system will bring back the humidity for Tuesday and Wednesday with again a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

High pressure is slowly moving off the coast and will give us one more nice day with plenty of sunshine, seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

A warm front will move to our north tomorrow morning and will cause an increase in temperatures and humidity along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.

A weak front will be in our area Friday and Saturday with continued quite warm temperatures and high humidity. The showers and thunderstorms are most likely Friday night through Saturday night.

High pressure over us today will give us plenty of sunshine, lighter winds than yesterday with near normal temperatures and continued low humidity.

The high pressure will move slowly offshore on Wednesday and the weather will still be pleasantly warm.

As the high moves further offshore a southerly flow of warmer and more humid air will move into out area on Independence Day and these summertime conditions will continue through at least early next week. There is a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers Thursday through Saturday. Sunday should be dry but another chance of showers for Monday as a weak front will be in our area.

HURRICANE BERYL: Beryl is now up to an amazing 165 mph and is the earliest Category 5 on record. The storm caused major damage across the Windward Islands and now is headed for Jamaica hopefully becoming less intense.

June averaged 74.9 degrees which was 4.9 degrees above normal. The highest temperature was 98 set on the 21st. The lowest was 57 set on the 1st and again on the 11th. This 57 degree low was the highest June minimum temperature on record. Precipitation was below normal with 3.36″. Also this June and the least amount of overcast skies.
