Light snow and or rain is falling early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from 33 in Clifton down to 28 at High Point. Winds are from the south around 5-10 mph. The air quality is moderate with an index of 53. We have some very light snow accumulations on colder surfaces here in Clifton.

An Arctic cold front will pass our area this morning preceded by some rain and snow showers and followed by clearing this afternoon and it will be very windy with possible gusts over 45 mph. A wind advisory is in effect.

As the Arctic high builds closer to our area it will give us a quite cold day on Friday, the winds will still gust to around 30 mph which will make the highs in the mid 30s feel much colder.

Dry weather for the weekend as the high pressure moves to our south. Saturday will still be chilly but it will become milder on Sunday.

Quite mild Monday through Wednesday, but there will be a good chance of showers as a frontal system will be in our area.

High pressure will be moving off the coast as a frontal system approaches from the northwest. We should see an increase in clouds by this afternoon with below normal temperatures. Winds will become gusty out of the south-southwest by later in the day. Light rain and snow showers are expected tonight into Thursday morning. The cold front associated with this system will move through Thursday morning followed by a strong westerly flow of colder air. Wind gusts to 45 mph are likely and a wind advisory has been posted.

Arctic high pressure will dominate our weather on Friday with quite cold conditions, the winds will still gust to 30 mph at times making it feel much colder.

Dry weather is expected for the weekend, it will still be chilly on Saturday but temperatures will moderate on Sunday.

Quite mild through early next week but another frontal system will give us a chance of rain Monday into Tuesday.

High pressure building from the west will give us a sunny day today with continued cold temperatures.

The high will be moving off the coast as a frontal system approaches from the northwest. Tomorrow, we should have an increase in clouds during the day, temperatures will continue to be below normal. Rain and snow showers will develop at night and continue into Thursday morning. We may have a dusting of snow in the Clifton area and a couple of inches is possible over the higher elevations to our north and west.

As the storm system moves to our north and east we will have strong winds on the backside of this low with some gusts to 45 mph. Skies should clear by the afternoon.

Arctic high pressure will build into our area on Friday and it will be quite cold and windy despite plenty of sunshine.

The upcoming weekend should be dry, temperatures will still be chilly on Saturday but a little milder on Sunday.

Milder early next week but we may have another chance of rain showers on Monday as a weak system approaches our area.

The low pressure over eastern Canada is weakening as high pressure builds from the middle of the country. We will have another cold day but with less wind than today.

Sunny and cold weather is expected for Tuesday as the high pressure builds closer to our area.

We should see some increase in clouds on Wednesday as a weak disturbance approaches from the northwest. Some rain and snow showers are likely Wednesday night into Thursday morning. High pressure will then build into the area Thursday afternoon and it will become quite windy.

Friday looks to be mostly sunny and chilly as high pressure builds into the area.

The upcoming weekend now looks to be a little milder, most of the area will be dry but another weak disturbance may touch off a snow shower Saturday night.

CLIFTON CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR NOVEMBER 2024 RECORDS BEGAN IN 1973.

The average temperature was 49.6 degrees and that was well above normal and was the 3rd warmest November. The highest temperature was 81 degrees on the 6th, the lowest temperature was 27 recorded on the 30th. Precipitation totaled 3.21″ which was slightly below normal with most of it falling after the 21st. Snowfall was a trace which fell on the 22nd.

CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR THE FALL MONTHS.

This fall was the warmest and driest fall since my records began. Temperatures averaged around 3 degrees above normal. Only an amazing 4.39″ fell during this fall. We also had the longest streak without measurable rainfall from September 30th through November 10th, which was 41 days and 23 1/2 hours.
